The scheme revolves around the upcoming ‘Praan Pratishtha’ ceremony of Shri Ramlala scheduled for January 22 in Ayodhya city. The Chhattisgarh government, in collaboration with the Chhattisgarh Tourism Board, aims to offer its residents the opportunity to visit Ayodhya and witness the darshan of Shri Ramlala.

  • Residents of Chhattisgarh aged between 18-75, declared fit by the District Medical Board, are eligible.
  • The scheme extends to disabled individuals, with initial focus on those above 55 years of age.
  • Each district will form a Shri Ramlala Darshan Committee under the District Collector’s guidance for beneficiary selection.

Travel Arrangements

  • The pilgrimage covers around 900 kilometers to Ayodhya, with the Chhattisgarh Tourism Board collaborating with the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC).
  • IRCTC will manage security, health, food, sightseeing, local transport, and passenger escort during the journey.
  • District Collectors will coordinate transport from beneficiaries’ homes to designated railway stations and back.

Itinerary:

  • The main focus is on Shri Ramlala darshan in Ayodhya Dham, with a day and night spent in Varanasi.
  • Pilgrims will visit the Kashi Vishwanath Temple Corridor and experience the Ganga Aarti.
  • Initially, IRCTC will operate one weekly train service, with plans to increase based on availability.

This initiative not only fulfills a promise but also enriches the spiritual experiences of Chhattisgarh residents, promoting connectivity with significant religious sites.
