RBI Takes Action Against Non-Banking Financial Companies
The Reserve Bank of India has taken strict action against four non-banking financial companies. Using powers under Section 45L of the Reserve Bank of India Act, 1934, the Central Bank has suspended four non-banking financial companies namely Aashirwad Micro Finance Ltd, Aaron Finance Ltd, DMI Finance Private Ltd and NV Finserv Ltd. Instructions have been issued to stop sanctioning and disbursing loans from the close of business.
Indian Railways Announces Changes in Pre-Booking Period
Indian Railways has announced significant changes in its pre-booking period. The pre-booking period for long distance train coaching will now be 60 days instead of 120 days for long distance trains, which will be effective from 1st November 2024. The decision is aimed at reducing the blockage of money for booking tickets months in advance during festivals and other co-passenger travel periods and to include convenience to passengers. The new pre-booking period will be effective from 1st November 2024.
