On September 5, 2024, India’s Union Minister of Textiles, Shri Giriraj Singh, unveiled an exciting new fashion trend book called “Paridhi 24×25.” The event also introduced the bilingual web portal VisioNxt and an AI Taxonomy e-book. Shri Pabitra Margherita, Union Minister of State for External Affairs and Textiles, joined him at the launch.
What is Paridhi 24×25?
“Paridhi 24×25” reflects India’s unique fashion identity and promotes its trends. It helps India rely less on international fashion forecasts. Over 150 industry leaders, including fashion designers, textile experts, and local craftsmen, attended the event.
Introducing VisioNxt and AI Taxonomy
The bilingual web portal VisioNxt revolutionizes Indian fashion trends. It analyzes fashion patterns using both artificial and human intelligence, offering key insights in Hindi and English. The AI Taxonomy e-book provides detailed information on Indian fashion wear categories.
The Vision Behind VisioNxt
VisioNxt has produced over 60 micro trend reports, 10 close-to-season reports, and three research papers. Its mission is to position India as a global leader in fashion trend prediction. It blends India’s expertise in technology and textiles, making fashion forecasting more precise.
NIFT Begusarai Extension Centre Opens
The launch also marked the opening of a new National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) Extension Centre in Begusarai. This center offers skills training in tailoring and garment construction. During his visit, Minister Giriraj Singh toured the facility and encouraged trainees to maximize their learning opportunities.
Workshops to Empower Women
From September 17-19, 2024, the NIFT Begusarai Centre held its first workshop. During this three-day event, 31 women from the Jeevika self-help group learned basic tailoring and cutting skills. Participants provided positive feedback and appreciated the opportunity to learn new techniques.
MoU Signed with NSDC
At the event, NIFT and the National Skill Development Council (NSDC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This partnership aims to develop skills within marginalized communities, helping them find opportunities in India’s growing fashion industry. Giriraj Singh emphasized his vision of making India’s textile sector a key player in the country’s economic growth.
VisioNxt’s Role in Indian Fashion
VisioNxt was created after the Prime Minister emphasized the need for real-time, India-specific fashion insights at the Global Textile Summit in 2017. It now provides essential fashion forecasts that reflect India’s diverse cultural and socio-economic environment. VisioNxt helps stakeholders in the fashion and retail industries stay updated with emerging trends.
Conclusion
The launch of “Paridhi 24×25” and VisioNxt represents a significant step toward promoting Indian fashion globally. By focusing on India’s rich cultural heritage and using advanced technology, the initiative aims to shape the future of fashion while uplifting marginalized communities. This development sets the stage for India’s growing influence in the global fashion industry.
