Chief Operating Officer Shashwat Sharma will take over as MD and CEO of Bharti Airtel. Former Gopal Vittal has been appointed as the Vice President of Bharti Airtel Limited from January 1, 2026. Sharma will be appointed as the CEO Designate of the company for the next 14 months. After being appointed as the CEO Designate, Shashwat will lead the entire end-to-end consumer business. Gopal Vittal will be responsible for guiding and preparing Shashwat to take over.
Piyush Goyal to Attend the 8th Edition of the Future Investment Initiative
Union Minister Piyush Goyal will attend the 8th edition of the Future Investment Initiative in Riyadh. The Future Investment Initiative brings together leading investors and think tanks from across the world. India and Saudi Arabia have a history of deep economic, cultural, and strategic ties. Launch of Indian Coast Guard Ships Adanya and Akshar
Priya Parmesh, wife of Indian Coast Guard Director General Parmesh Sivanami, formally launched the ships Adanya and Akshar. These fast patrol vessels have been designed in-house by GSL to meet the specific operational requirements of the Coast Guard. These vessels have a length of 52 meters, a breadth of 8 meters, and a displacement of 320 tonnes. These vessels are customized to protect offshore assets, island territories, and to carry out surveillance operations. GSL is building eight fast patrol vessels for the Indian Coast Guard.

India’s total gold reserves held by the Reserve Bank of India have reached 854.73 metric tons. 510.46 metric tons are stored in India, while 324.01 metric tons are held in reserves at the Bank of England and the Bank for International Settlements. 20.26 metric tons of gold is held as deposits to support liquidity and financial stability.

India’s first writers’ village was inaugurated in Dehradun. It was jointly inaugurated by former President Ram Nath Kovind, Uttarakhand Governor Lieutenant General Gurmeet Singh, and Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. The writers’ village is located in Thano village, about 24 km from Dehradun. The writers’ village is the brainchild of former Chief Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, who himself is a renowned writer.
